June Home Supply - Material love

With plenty more time on my hands for organising my home, love discovering new brands which share my love of utilitarian wares, honest materials a natural aesthetic. I wanted to share a few of my favourite products from June Home Supply - an online boutique for quality home goods for simple living.

"Our philosophy is quite simple – we love beautiful and functional pieces that help foster a sense of simplicity and beauty in our dwellings. Our focus is on creating homes that invite and celebrate the simple moments of the everyday – dinner by candlelight with loved ones, curling up on the sofa with a warm blanket and a good book, quietly washing dishes at the sink. These quiet, unassuming moments we share at home are often the richest and give our lives a sense of beauty that transcends any aesthetic. We believe that layering our homes with objects is not simply about filling our spaces with things but first and foremost about celebrating the gift that is found in everyday moments.
Live simply, live beautifully."

1. Ceramic

Simple forms reflect a mix of contemporary clean lines and classic influences - scalloped details, rolled edges and groves from the potters wheel. I like the groggy and slightly uneven surfaces, but i'm also a sucker for the rawness of a matte finish.

2. Basketware.

I love a good basket, but especially love how these natural fibres are making their way onto less assuming objects. The cane wrapped pitcher is a beautiful mix of materials, and makes me want to make cucumber infused water and eat dinner alfresco. I also love the woven jute trivets, a beautifully considered alternative to your standard rubber pot stand.

3. Metal.

It has long been my dream to have handmade metal cookware like they did in the past, petite spoons to stir your coffee, cups to measure flour when baking or ladles to display from your hanging rail. Theres something really beautiful about a little wonky handmade spoon. I particularly love these measuring cups and brass hanging shelf for displaying spices, pinch pots and plants.

4. Wood.

As a long time fan of IKEA, I love pale woods like untreated pine. I feel the best way to choose wooden items is to look for beautiful grains, light shades, and honest connections - sometimes the most simple techniques are the nicest like hand carving and simple joins. The shape and form don't need to say much, just let the material do the talking.

5. Textile.

Sometimes overlooked, textile material usually comes second to the purpose and form of an object like bedding and tea towels. We've all been suckered in at some point by the supersoft feel of a polyester throw and often look to make a statement with colours and patterns. Materials like linen, canvas and cotton can bring a tactile quality that is timeless and usually tons better for the environment - lots of suppliers are opting to dye fabrics naturally. June has a beautiful collection of understated textiles that hang effortlessly right down to that perfect crumple.
